The satellites launched by our country mostly adopt the method of terrestrial alternative calibration, which requires the calculation of atmospheric radiation transmission. The uncertainty of radiation calibration is generally 5% to 7%. The Fengyun 4 satellite multi-channel scanning imaging radiometer was equipped for the first time with a solar diffuser on-board satellite scaler based on radiation monitoring. It was accompanied by satellites to perform normalized on-orbit optical radiation calibration for satellite loads in real time. The uncertainty of radiometric calibration is 3% to 5%, which provides a strong guarantee for improving the weather forecast accuracy of Fengyun 4 satellite.

During the stage of satellite launch and lift-off and on-orbit operation, the optical sensor system gradually attenuates due to emission vibration, environmental temperature changes, and space electromagnetic radiation environment, affecting the quantitative accuracy of remote sensor detection. The on-orbit service life of satellites is generally 5 to 8 years. To ensure that the satellite load maintains high quantitative accuracy over its lifetime, scientists have used a variety of methods to correct the accuracy of the instrument in real time.
