0 Preface

Data center power supply quality has a direct impact on the safe operation of IT equipment. Therefore, it is very important to monitor the data entry and exit of power cabinets in data centers. In addition, with the reduction of global available energy and the increase of energy costs, how to make the economy more economical? The effective use of energy has become the responsibility of the relevant companies.

For the requirements of the data center column counters for monitoring devices, we designed the AMC16M data center monitoring system to achieve comprehensive monitoring of the electrical parameters of the two incoming lines and multiple outgoing lines and the switching status of the incoming and outgoing lines.

1 Monitoring System Diagram

As shown in FIG. 1 , the host module measures the electrical parameters and switch states of the two incoming and outgoing cables. The display terminal installed on the front panel can check the measurement data and switch status of the incoming and outgoing lines, and can set the device's value. Parameters and setting values. All data can be connected to the back-end distribution management system through the RS485 port, which enables centralized monitoring of the counters and other equipment. Combined with energy efficiency management software, the power distribution can be optimized to achieve the purpose of energy saving.

2 Features

2.1 All-round multi-loop monitoring

Our precision power distribution monitoring unit AMC16M can be divided into two types: AMC16MA and AMC16MD. AMC16MA can measure AC input/output current and voltage, AMC16MD can measure DC input/output voltage and current, and its appearance and structure are consistent. AMC16MA can monitor 1 three-phase incoming line. Voltage, 2 three-phase incoming currents, and 36 single-phase outgoing currents.

The incoming electrical parameters include phase voltage, current, active power, reactive power, active energy, reactive energy, apparent power, and power factor.

Outgoing electrical parameters include current, active power, reactive power, active power, and reactive power.

The AMC16MD measures the electrical parameters of the DC bus voltage, the 42-channel DC current, the active power, and the active power.

The digital module ARTU-K32 can control 32 passive digital inputs at a time.

2.2 High measurement accuracy

The in-line current measurement uses a 0.5-level current transformer. For the outgoing circuit, the measurement accuracy is 1.0 and the measurable current is as low as 0.25A.

2.3 Harmonic Measurement Function

The AC monitoring main body can measure the voltage and current harmonics of the incoming and outgoing lines.

2.4 Classified alarm function

For over-current and under-current 2-stage threshold crossing alarms, over-voltage, under-voltage, phase loss, over-frequency, and low-frequency over-limit alarms can prevent faults and facilitate pre-measurement and all alarms. Values ​​can be set quickly via the HMI.

2.5 User-friendly design operation is simple

Using 7" man-machine interface, visibility and operability are good, as shown in Figure 2:

2.6 standard communication interface

The monitoring main body has two standard RS485 interfaces. The touch screen has one RS485, one RS485/RS232 communication optional interface, and can be connected with the engine room power environment monitoring system to achieve remote data acquisition and monitoring functions.

2.7 Auxiliary Power Supply

The monitoring main body AMC16M operating power is divided into AC85V-AC265V/DC100V-350V, DC24V-57V.

2.8 Installation Method

The monitoring main body AMC16M is DIN35 rail-mounted.

4 Product Application

A group company information park data center second phase power supply air conditioning project power head cabinet project, the information park is divided into two layers, is divided into A, B two-way power, each need to be equipped with 240V/630A DC type secondary power head cabinet, 380V /160A AC type two power head unit, each DC type two power head unit has 21 outgoing currents, each AC type secondary power head unit has 24 outgoing currents, the requirements are as follows: the voltage of the incoming circuit, Current, frequency, power, energy and other parameters and switching status and outgoing line current, power, energy and other parameters and switch status display and monitoring.

In the early stage of this project, a commonly used scheme was adopted. Three AC/DC current power meters and one DC power meter were installed on the incoming line of the column header to collect electrical parameters and switch status. Multiple three-phase/single-phase power was installed on the outgoing line. Instrumentation, measurement of electrical parameters, and installation of multiple switching equipment to collect the state of the outlet switch, using the HMI to display and upload data, during the evaluation of this program, we found that due to the collection of too many equipment, the program caused several The problem is that the first is to increase the capacity requirements of the counters, the second is to increase the cost of the equipment in the column cabinets, and the third is to increase the difficulty of equipment maintenance. In order to integrate the above points, we need to provide a program that can simplify the acquisition. equipment. In view of the fact that there are many outlet circuits in this project, but the collection current is generally small, we can use the products of our company's existing products AMC16M and AMC16K or ARTU-K32 to form a set of inlet and outlet multi-loop acquisition, switch status display The AMC16M can monitor up to 42 single-phase loop currents and power, and the AMC16M has developed AMC16MD and AMC16MA devices for both DC and AC two-row cabinets. , can meet the requirements of the project's DC and AC power cabinets. In response, we have given the following two options:

(1) 380V/160A AC Type 2 Power Supply Headstock

Using AMC16MA as the monitoring subject, AMC16MA primary phase voltage measurement can meet the 380V AC line voltage requirements in the column cabinet of the AC/DC power supply. Using three transformers with a 200A:5A transformation ratio, the primary line current can be measured at 160A. The measurement requirements, the outgoing current measurement requires the use of 24 ratios of 100A: 20mA transformers to meet the measurement requirements of a primary output current of 32A.

(2) 240V/630A DC Type II Power Supply Headstock

The AMC16MD is used as the monitoring subject, and a switch module ARTU-K32 is provided. The primary voltage measurement of the main body can meet the requirement of 240V primary DC voltage in the column cabinet of the power supply. With the transformer with the transformation ratio of 630A/20mA, the primary current can be measured. 630A, outgoing line current measurement needs to use 21 transformation ratios as 100A: 50mA transformers, which can meet the measurement requirements of a primary outgoing line current of 32A.

Based on the above two comparison schemes, taking AMC16M as the main function of monitoring, the capacity of the power headgear was first solved, and the cost of the power headgear was also greatly reduced, and the post-maintenance work was also simplified, so the project was eventually adopted. AMC16MA is used as the monitoring device in the AC secondary power terminal cabinet. AMC16MD is used as the monitoring device in the DC type secondary power terminal cabinet. It is composed of a switching module ARTU-K32, touch screen, and mutual inductor to form a complete monitoring system.

6 Conclusion

With the rapid development of data centers, data center energy consumption has become more and more prominent. Data center energy management and power supply and distribution design has become a hot issue. The efficient and reliable data center power distribution system solution is to improve the data center. Energy efficiency, an effective way to reduce equipment energy consumption. To achieve energy savings in the data center, it is necessary to accurately monitor each power load. The data center has many load loops. The traditional measurement instruments cannot meet the requirements for cost, volume, installation, and construction. Therefore, it is necessary to Adopt a multi-loop monitoring device suitable for centralized monitoring of data centers.

The AMC16M is specifically designed for the development of data center AC column heads. It has conducted in-depth research on the application of such products, and is superior to other solutions in terms of functions, performance, availability, and economy.
