Current status of mine safety production in China

China's mineral resources are very rich. At present, there are 181 kinds of minerals that have been developed and utilized, and the total resources account for 12% of the world. In recent years, the rapid rise of China's mining industry has beneficially promoted the rapid development of the national economy.

Mining is a comprehensive technology industry involving geology, mining, ventilation, transportation, safety, electromechanical and electrical, blasting, environmental protection and corporate management.

Due to factors such as natural geographical conditions, the space where the mining activities come back is in a process of constant change. The working environment and safety conditions are very complicated, and some are even very bad. Safety production is greatly threatened. Especially in recent years, a large number of small and medium-sized mining enterprises with non-public ownership have emerged, which has brought great pressure on the safe production of mines. These enterprises are small in scale, mining technology is backward, operating environment is poor, and safety production investment is seriously insufficient. In addition, the company's safety management is chaotic, the quality of employees is low, and the safety awareness is weak. As a result, the "three violations" phenomenon has been repeatedly banned, and casualties have occurred frequently to the country and the people. Life and property cause significant losses and have a negative impact on society.

Production of metal and nonmetal mine safety situation is not optimistic the field, especially in individual mines, variety, widely distributed, small-scale, multi households, poor foundation, has been accident-prone areas of focus, second only to traffic accidents in production , after the railway, coal mining, construction, ranking fifth. In recent years, major accidents in metal and non-metal mines have continued. 2001 July 17 Nandan pull armor slope tin mine flooding accident, 81 people died; June 20, 2002, Fanzhi County of Shanxi Yixing Village "6.5 22" large explosion killed 38 people; In 2004, a special major fire accident occurred in the “11·20” railway in Xingtai, Hebei Province, with 70 deaths and a direct economic loss of 6,047,500 yuan. On November 6, 2005, a collapse accident occurred at the Kangli gypsum mine in Shangwangzhuang, Huining Town, Xingtai County, Hebei Province, killing 33 people and missing four people. In 2007, the “1.17” mega-permeability accident occurred in the Qilaigou Iron Mine in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. 29 miners died and the direct economic loss was 14.2 million yuan. On September 8, 2008, a new major dam accident occurred in Xinta Mining Company, Linxian City, Linyi City, Shanxi Province, killing 271 people.
