He was elected to the Chinese Academy of Engineering in November 1997 and is currently the director of the Composite Materials Research Center of Shanghai University. He has long been engaged in carbon/carbon composite materials, special fibers and special textile materials. The new composite reinforced skeleton, polyacrylonitrile pre-oxidized fiber monofilament carpet, which has been successfully researched and hosted, won the National Invention Third Prize.
