Germany KSB companies ( foreign News ) has been the German's first 100% straw with a plethora of bio-fuel power plant pumps and valves door. The plant is located in Emlichheim and is designed to supply industrial heat to a nearby company using straw as an energy source. In addition to the many high pressure and low pressure valves installed at various locations in the steam circuit, KSB also supplies two boiler feed pumps.
Both pumps are 16-pole high-pressure pumps with a flow rate of about 80 cubic meters per hour, a lift of 1,706 meters and a power rating of 630kW. High pressure valves include a new 200mm diameter steam gate valve, pressure of 250pa. The above equipment are used heat-resistant steel shell, some of which are also equipped with electric actuators.
This is the first large-scale use of straw for power generation and heat generation, with a heat input of 49.8 MW and a total output of 13 MW. Each year requires about 75,000 tons of straw. Straw is considered a carbon dioxide-friendly fuel because the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by crops during their growth is consistent with the amount released when burning straw. Due to the unique concept of heat utilization, the plant's energy efficiency can reach 90%.
While the power generated by the power plant is fed to the public power grid, the heat energy present in the form of high quality industrial steam is also sent to a nearby starch plant for production processes that consume significant amounts of energy. The project brings together public facilities and private factories into the same heating network through a long pipeline of about 8 kilometers; the power plant will be brought online in May 2013.
