Engine Control System Issues BMW Global Recalls 4,000 Vehicles

BMW Motors announced the day before yesterday that it will recall 4,000 cars worldwide due to engine control system problems. It is reported that the problem was due to temporary production mistakes made by individual suppliers, resulting in some defective parts being equipped on the new 5 Series, 6 Series, 7 Series and X5 V8 and V12 gasoline engines. This defect will cause the engine to stop after a short driving time, the power steering system and the brake booster will continue to repeat the braking action, which may cause them to malfunction. As a result, they may cause some unexpected accidents including traffic accidents. Traffic conditions occur." The cars to be recalled include BMW cars produced from May 12 to July 6 this year. Whether the Chinese market has imported defective models and whether there are similar problems in the domestic BMW 5 Series produced by BMW Brilliance has not yet been commented on by BMW China as of this writing.
