Machine tool development enters new normal

Since the second half of 2011, China's machine tool industry has begun a three-and-a-half year adjustment. In the natural adjustment of the machine tool's structure, compared with the peak in 2010, the production and sales of heavy machine tool companies have dropped to two to three percent. In addition to this, the second feature of the industry change is that the demand for low-end machine tools has dropped significantly. Low-end machine tools mainly refer to non-CNC machine tools. Compared with the peak in 2011, the production and sales of such machine tools also fell to the level of two to three percent. Based on this structural adjustment, the export market has become a bright spot for China's machine tool sales.

With the decline of the machine tool market from a high position, it also means the end of the stage of development characterized by “great but not strong, with a serious excess of low-end production capacity and a serious shortage of high-end supply capacity”. In the new stage of development, the development characteristics of the industry will shift from high speed to high quality and high efficiency, which is becoming the new normal for the future operation of the machine tool industry.

After the structural adjustment in recent years, the production and sales levels of heavy-duty machine tools and low-end machine tools in machine tool tools have declined to some extent. The reason is that over the past decade, the rapid development of energy equipment, raw materials, infrastructure, and real estate industry has directly stimulated the development of the heavy machine tool industry. At the time, the hottest products in the industry were also heavy machine tools. The economic development stage has undergone changes. In the past two years, there are still people waiting for the market to recover. However, this is impossible. This stage has already passed. The shrinking of the low-end machine tool market reflects the upgrading of the demand structure. One of the reasons is that the user field industry upgrades, the equipment needed will naturally be upgraded, so the threshold for machine tools is getting higher and higher. Another reason is the change in the structure of labor demand. The reversal of labor supply and demand structure has caused a shortage of labor in the machinery manufacturing industry. This also reflects from the side that China has passed the threshold of industrialization of CNC machine tools. In the past, the numerical control rate also existed as an assessment index. Now, whether it is the end of manufacturing or the end of use, CNC machine tools have become popular.
