SMSC Introduces Four Temperature Sensors for Environmental Monitoring In order to solve the problem of heat dissipation, SMSC has launched a series of environmental monitoring and control (EMC) products, including four temperature sensors: EMC1001, EMC1002, EMC1023 and EMC1033.
SMSC's Anti-Parallel Diodes increase the maximum range of temperature monitoring, reducing the number of device pins from 10 to 8, because it can monitor the temperature zone on two pins instead of only observing the two diode pins One can help solve the heat and space issues in the design.
In addition, different ideality factors may cause temperature measurement errors in the substrate diodes or external independent diodes contained in the microprocessor. Through the company's Ideality Configuration function, the above sensors can compensate for these under over-temperature conditions. Errors, instead of just correcting temperature values ​​at one temperature point, help designers achieve a more reliable and accurate system.
In addition, diode wiring resistance can also cause temperature measurement errors up to 4°C. By using the Resistance Error Correction method of SMSC, this resistance effect can be automatically cancelled to eliminate this error.
