The World's First Lignite to Olefins Project for Industrialization

It was learned from Datang Group that at 23:56 on August 29, the MTP plant process of Inner Mongolia Datang International Duolun Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. passed through and produced propylene products. This is the world's first olefin project using inferior lignite as raw material. Realize industrial production.


MTP (coal-based propylene) plant is the key link of the entire chemical plant of Duolun coal chemical project. It adopts the German Lurgi technology and uses the refined methanol produced by the methanol plant as raw material, and undergoes reaction regeneration, separation and compression, and drying and refining to produce polymerization. Grade propylene products and by-products such as ethylene, gasoline, and LPG.


On August 26th, the dimethyl ether reactor of the MTP plant enters the self-producing refined methanol. When the methanol conversion rate reaches above 90%, the MTP reactor feeds; on August 27, the MTP reactor produces the propylene content of 37% The distillation system succeeded in establishing a cyclic hydrocarbon to increase the selectivity of propylene. After distillation system operation, the propylene product was distilled at 23:56 on August 29th.


The entire MTP plant process flowed through the production of propylene products, which laid a solid foundation for Duolun Coal Chemical Company to realize the continuous and stable operation of the entire plant and the production of 65,000 tons of polypropylene products during the year.
