It relies on scientific and technological progress, rationally comprehensive utilization, and improves the utilization level of pyrite resources.
The pyrite cinder after the production of sulfuric acid can be used as a source of metallic iron, but this requires a higher mass fraction of iron in the cinder, which requires an increase in the grade of the pyrite raw material. Therefore, improving the grade of pyrite concentrate will be one of the important directions in the study of pyrite ore dressing . In addition, effective and adequate recycling of associated pyrite resources is also a trend and important direction of pyrite ore dressing.
In recent years, although China's pyrite ore dressing technology has developed rapidly, with the decreasing of rich mineral resources, the characteristics of lean, fine and miscellaneous minerals are more and more obvious. In order to efficiently and economically recover various useful minerals, In the future, the development of pyrite ore dressing should pay full attention to the following aspects of research work.
(1) Strengthen research on process mineralogy. For those pyrite ore with complex minerals and complicated mosaic relationships, the prerequisite for effective flotation separation is comprehensive process mineralogical research.
(2) Research on strengthening pyrite high-efficiency collectors , activators and inhibitors. Flotation is an effective means of recovering pyrite. There are many influencing factors. The use of regulators and collectors is the key to the success of flotation. Therefore, designing and developing high-efficiency, low-toxicity and easily degradable flotation reagents will remain an important research direction for pyrite flotation.
(3) Pay attention to the research of the associated pyrite flotation process. The low-alkali process undoubtedly provides a method for improving the comprehensive recovery rate of resources, reducing the amount of flotation reagents, and achieving clean production, so it is worth further research.
(4) Research and application of high-efficiency large-scale beneficiation equipment for pyrite. Pyrite ore dressing equipment is a trend toward large-scale, automation, high-sorting, and low-energy consumption. Such as the application of new large-scale flotation machine, flotation column in pyrite ore dressing, large-scale high-efficiency crusher , self-grinding and semi- autogenous grinding machine applications.
(5) Study on the mechanism of action of flotation reagents on the surface of pyrite. Due to the heterogeneity of surface structure and lattice defects of pyrite in different producing areas, the floatability of pyrite varies greatly, and the properties of pyrite surface and the flotation agent in sulfur are studied in more detail. The mechanism of action on the surface of iron ore provides scientific guidance for the precise separation of pyrite.
(6) Further strengthen the resource utilization of pyrite tailings and the treatment technology of ore dressing wastewater. With the improvement of the requirements for ecological civilization construction, the state's “three wastes†emission standards for enterprises are more stringent. Therefore, it is even more urgent to realize the resource utilization of tailings of pyrite ore dressing plants and the zero discharge of water or the recycling of water.
(7) Research on new beneficiation technology of pyrite. For example, in the electrochemical flotation study of pyrite, the focus of pyrite flotation electrochemical research is self-induced and sodium sulfide-induced flotation-free flotation, which can reduce the environmental impact of beneficiation agents to some extent. Solving the problem of environmental governance that has been plaguing mining companies, and also achieving the effect of reducing the cost of mineral processing.
