Dow develops new styrene and butadiene based copolymers

In the field of consumer electronics and home appliance parts, it can be used as an alternative to acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymers. It not only has a better cost advantage, but also has a high impact strength and good brightness and other comprehensive performance.

Styrene/butadiene-based copolymers combine the ease of processing characteristics with performance advantages to compensate for the gap between conventional high-impact polystyrene resins and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymers. The gloss is similar to acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymers and provides higher impact strength than typical high impact polystyrene. This new product consumes less energy during processing and therefore has lower production costs. The first copolymer series to be launched on the market is the X-1 and X-2 styrene/butadiene-based copolymers, which achieve a balance between excellent gloss and extraordinary toughness. X-1 styrene/butadiene copolymers are designed for applications with stringent requirements for gloss and aesthetics, while X-2 styrene/butadiene copolymers require high toughness or The application of drop impact performance is tailored.
