Anhui's Instrument and Instrument Export Increased 115.5% YoY in the First Quarter

In the first quarter of this year, the import and export of electromechanical products such as instruments and meters in Anhui Province maintained a balanced growth. The cumulative import and export volume was 2.297 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 53.9% year-on-year, and higher than the province's import and export growth rate of 19.5%. Among them: Imports of 956 million US dollars, an increase of 59.7%, higher than the province's imports increased by 29.9 percentage points, exports 1.34 billion US dollars, an increase of 50.1%, higher than the province's export growth rate of 11%. The main features are as follows:

First, the import and export of key products have grown rapidly. From January to March, imports of mechanical and electrical equipment increased rapidly, and the quality and grade of imported equipment improved. Imports of machinery and equipment amounted to US$680 million, a year-on-year increase of 58.8%, imports of electrical and electronic equipment were US$101 million, an increase of 85% over the same period of last year, and imports of instrumentation and instrumentation were US$74.82 million, an increase of 30.1% year-on-year. The pace of export of auto vehicles has been accelerated. The province has exported 39,000 vehicles, an increase of 19,000 vehicles year-on-year, an increase of 94.2% year-on-year. Automobile and chassis exports were 270 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 112.6% year-on-year, and auto parts exports were 85.97 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 51% year-on-year. Exports of machinery and equipment amounted to US$460 million, a year-on-year increase of 41%. Electrical and electronic equipment exports were US$190 million, an increase of 41.8% year-on-year. Instrument and meter exports were US$50.38 million, an increase of 115.5% year-on-year.

Second, backbone enterprises still provide important support for import and export. The backbone enterprises continued to drive strong growth in imports and exports. From January to March, Hefei Hitachi excavator imported 240 million U.S. dollars, up 38.6 percent year-on-year, LDK LDK imported 86.03 million U.S. dollars (zero year-on-year), and Siemens VDO imported 29.23 million U.S. dollars. The year-on-year increase was 32.2%, Hefei Rongan imported 28.61 million US dollars, an increase of 57.9%; Chery Automotive exports 190 million US dollars, an increase of 81.3%, Jianghuai Automobile exports 98 million US dollars, an increase of 363.2%, Hefei Hualing electrical exports 55.84 million. The U.S. dollar increased 52.1% year-on-year, Zhongda Electronics (Wuhu) exported 41.2 million U.S. dollars, up 205628.9% year-on-year, and Wuhu Hitachi Appliances exported 38 million U.S. dollars, up 53.3% year-on-year.

Third, the import and export of electromechanical products accounted for a relatively high proportion of the general trade, and the import processing trade grew faster than the same period of last year. Imports and exports of general trade amounted to US$1.58 billion, accounting for 68.9% of total imports and exports of mechanical and electrical products, of which: general trade exports amounted to US$8.3 billion, accounting for 62% of exports of electromechanical products, general trade imports amounted to US$750 million, accounting for electromechanical products. 78.6% of the import value; import and export of general trade, processing trade increased by more than 50% year-on-year, of which import processing trade increased 102.8% year-on-year.

Fourth, Europe, South America, the United States, and ASEAN are the major export markets of electromechanical products in our province, and the growth of the US market is more significant. From January to March, the top four export markets of electromechanical products in our province were: Europe, 290 million U.S. dollars, up 55.1% year-on-year, South America, 230 million U.S. dollars, up 81.7% year-on-year, U.S., 160 million U.S. dollars, up 105.6% year-on-year, ASEAN US$140 million, an increase of 66.3% year-on-year; followed by the Gulf with US$120 million, an increase of 91.4%, Africa’s US$110 million, a year-on-year decrease of 35%; Japan’s US$76.09 million, an increase of 57.3%, Germany’s US$54.36 million, an increase of 89.3% year-on-year %, India and Pakistan 52.71 million US dollars, an increase of 85.3%.

Fifth, the import and export of mechanical and electrical products mainly rely on key cities to pull. Import and export mainly rely on Hefei, Wuhu and other key cities to pull, including: Hefei City imported 520 million US dollars, an increase of 73.5%, Wuhu City, imports 187 million US dollars, an increase of 29.3%. The cities that exceeded US$10 million in imports were: US$57.48 million in Anqing, US$30.52 million in Ma’anshan, US$18.29 million in Luzhou, US$14.11 million in Handan, US$12.97 million in Chaohu, US$12.19 million in Liu’an, and 1118 in Huainan. Million US dollars; Hefei City exported 450 million US dollars, an increase of 59%, Wuhu City exports 410 million US dollars, an increase of 87.3%. The cities with more than US$18 million worth of exports also included: 88.07 million US dollars in Bozhou City, 49.42 million US dollars in Maanshan City, 47.7 million US dollars in Xuancheng City, 27.53 million US dollars in Chaohu City, 1.98 million US dollars in Anqing City, and 18.49 million US Dollars in Handan City.
