Recently, the launching ceremony of the first batch of pure electric buses on-line operation by Wuhan Automobile Company of Yangzijiang Automobile Company was held in the triangle lake charging station of Wuhan Economic Development Zone. Vice Governor of Hubei Province Duan Lun1, Wuhan Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee Feng Jichun and Deputy Mayor Yin Weizhen attended the launching ceremony. Vice Mayor Yin Weizhen, Deputy Mayor of Wuhan hosted the launching ceremony. Feng Jichun, Standing Committee Member of Wuhan Municipal Committee, addressed the launch ceremony. A governor of the Duanwan District announced that Wuhan's first batch of pure-electric buses was officially launched and the key to pure-electric buses was delivered to the Wuhan Public Transport Group.
It is reported that Wuhan is one of the first batch of new energy demonstration operation cities in the “Ten Thousand Cities†project in the country. In order to seize the opportunities for development of new energy industries, Wuhan New Energy Automobile Industry will be supported and assisted by the Hubei Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government. With remarkable progress, local companies also showed strong growth momentum. At present, Yangzijiang Automobile Company has formulated the development strategy for new energy vehicles and parts industry, completed the declaration of the national new energy vehicle production access qualification, and has the ability to produce 5000 new energy pure electric buses annually. During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period, the Yangtze River New Energy Automobile Upstream and Downstream Integration Industrial Base (Jiangxia Liqiao Industrial Park) will be initially built.

After the launching ceremony, the participating leaders visited the Triangle Lake Charging Station and also took a pure electric bus. The entire driving process was smooth, noiseless, and free from exhaust emissions. The first batch of purely electric buses operating on-line were produced by Yangzijiang Motors. The vehicle is 12 meters long and has 32 seats. It can carry more than 80 passengers and has an automatic sidecar function. The floor can be lifted in seconds to allow special passengers to get on and off. The maximum speed is up to 80 km/h, and the maximum climbing rate is 20%. The charging time is 4 hours, and the continuous driving mileage of one charge is 280 kilometers. The battery is cycled and charged for 2000 times.
