Bestobell cryogenic valve surges in new shipbuilding market orders

Bestobell Marine's cryogenic valves benefited from a sharp increase in demand in the US market, and orders in the new dual-fuel ship market ushered in a blowout.

It is reported that Bestobell Marine recently supplied shut-off valves and check valves to the five ships of Harvey Gulf International Marine for the LNGPac fuel system on board. It is understood that these new ships are part of the “going green” project and the first hanging American flag ships that can fully use LNG as fuel. It is the most environmentally friendly marine craft in the Gulf of Mexico. One of the first ships, Harvey Energy, was launched in early 2015.

Bestobell also received a contract to supply valves for two Orca-class vessels in Totem Ocean Trailer Express (Totem Ocean), Alaska, USA. Currently, these two ships are being converted into LNG fuel ships. Its parent company Tote is converting its existing fleet into an LNG fuel ship.

Bestobell's cryogenic valves are specifically designed for marine applications and all components must withstand temperatures up to 925C.
