LED Tips: The difference between gold wire and alloy wire

In the LED package, the alloy wire process has been researched by the LED package factory due to its cost reduction and has been adopted by some manufacturers. However, there are many problems in the alloy wire process in terms of relative application in actual applications. Alloy wire is divided into high gold alloy wire and high silver alloy wire, gold content of more than 60% of the high gold alloy wire costs are not obvious, so the use of alloy wire packaging plant mostly used high-silver alloy wire. Here are some common problems, I hope we can be inspired.

(4) Failure analysis is more difficult when unpacking;

(5) equipment MTBA (hourly output rate) will be lower than the gold line technology, affecting capacity;

(6) The training period of operators and technicians is relatively long, the staff's skill and quality are relatively higher than that of gold wire welding,

(7) The cost of consumables will increase, and the life of the porcelain mouth of the alloy wire will usually be reduced by 1/3 or more compared with the gold wire. While increasing the complexity of production control and porcelain mouth consumption costs;

(8) placed after the line placed oxidation, there is no standard to determine the risk, likely to cause poor contact, increase the rate of non-performing;

(9) The standard of Wire Pull, ball shear test and SPC control line need to be re-optimized. At this stage, the standard of the gold wire may not be completely applicable to the alloy wire process.
