According to the information released by the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the above-mentioned three car companies have submitted reports to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and formally launched the recall work from April 15. The total recall amounted to 75,800 vehicles, including more than 2,000 vehicles in the Hangzhou market.

Hangzhou needs to recall more than 2,000 vehicles

According to the data disclosed at present, Beijing Hyundai, Dongfeng Yueda Kia, and Great Wall are the three car companies. A total of 12 models use Kumho tires with quality problems, totaling 75,800 vehicles.

Among the recalled vehicles, Beijing Modern accounted for an absolute majority, with a total of 63,588 vehicles, involving Elantra, Elantra, Accent, Yuxiang, Tucson, Rena, Minghao and i30. The Hangzhou market accounted for about 3% of the total sales, and it was calculated that there are nearly 2,000 Beijing modern models in Hangzhou that need to be recalled. Dongfeng Yueda Kia sales in Hangzhou is not large, the recall of the Hangzhou market may be less than a hundred vehicles. The number of Great Wall Motors is still small. According to the data provided by Hangzhou dealers, as of April 12 only four owners were contacted, which is negligible. In other words, the total recall of the three car companies in the Hangzhou market was more than 2,000 vehicles.

The recall was due to quality problems in tire products. This is the largest ever in the country. In the previous medium-sized car recall, the number of recalled vehicles in the Hangzhou market was generally several hundred.

Can only be changed for Kumho Tire

At present, the three car companies have announced the recall plan, after the service center to actively contact the owner to arrange the nearest free replacement tires.

Previously, owners had taken it for granted that if Kumho Tire had problems, then after the vehicle was recalled, it would have to replace other brands of tires. However, the final announcement was that Kumho Tire was still being replaced. This proposal has been questioned by many vehicle owners. “After Kumho Tire was exposed, we lost the least trust in it. Although Kumho said that it will regulate the quality of production, we are afraid to use its products again. After all, it is related to life safety.” The owner of the vehicle, Mr. Zhou, told reporters that the Kumho Tire was still used to replace the recalled vehicle. This way is obviously emotionally unacceptable.

At present, there are not many owners who hold this idea of ​​Mr. Zhou. In many website forums, owners have questioned this approach. However, at present, the AQSIQ has not expressed its attitude toward this kind of handling of car companies. According to the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Recalls, automobile manufacturers are required to bear the responsibility for the recall of defective vehicles and replace defective accessories for free. The newly replaced accessories must meet the quality requirements. As for what manufacturers produce, no provisions have been made.
