On February 24, 2014, the China Rubber Industry Association issued the "Green Tire Technical Specification" (hereinafter referred to as the "Code") that has attracted much attention from the tire industry at home and abroad, and began trial on March 1. The "Code" standard number is XXZB/LT-102-2014, first proposed by the China Rubber Industry Association, and is China's first green tire industry self-discipline.
Green tires refer to energy-saving, environmental-friendly, and safe tire products. The entire production process implements green manufacturing concepts, and the application process promotes green use. Green tires have low rolling resistance, low fuel consumption, excellent handling stability, shorter braking distances, better wear resistance, and many times refurbishment. Green tire manufacturing should meet the following general requirements: use of environmentally friendly, non-toxic harmless materials that meet the EU REACH environmental standards; the production process to achieve low energy consumption, low noise, low dust, low smoke. Compared with traditional tires, it highlights many advantages such as environmental protection, energy saving, safety, new processes, and new materials.
In addition to the product performance requirements for green tires, the “Specifications†also put forward requirements for the use of raw materials. Starting from January 2015, raw materials that should not be used in all radial tire formulas produced in the country and that should not be included in all imported tires are: high aromatic oils, antioxidants D, accelerators NOBS, thiuram super accelerator TMTM, TMTD, morpholine-type sulfur donors DTDM, pentachlorothiophenol-based plasticizers, SBR 1712 / SBR 1721; resorcinol and pre-dispersed types Resorcinol-formaldehyde resins are recommended alternatives. At the same time, it is recommended to use the major raw material varieties identified in the “Guide to Green Tire Environmental Raw Materials†after the release. The requirements for clean production of green tires and discharge of pollutants have also been put forward. For example, there are specific regulations for the comprehensive energy consumption of products, water pollutants, and emission standards for atmospheric emissions.
In addition, the "Specification" also recommended green tire production technology, such as rubber sulfide gas exhaust deodorization, low temperature continuous mixing, boiler flue gas desulfurization / dust / denitrification, high temperature nitrogen curing, carbon black pipeline transportation, rubber additives Automatic molding of pellets, tires, and semi-component roll-up, tire extrusion/calendering electron beam pre-vulcanization and other technologies; and it is recommended to gradually eliminate the tread bottom gluing technology.
According to reports, the "Standard" as the standard of the market game rules, laid the foundation for China's next step to achieve tire classification. In order to truly realize the industrialization of green tires in China, the issuance of the "Regulations" is only the beginning and more specific work needs to be done. The China Rubber Association plans to set up a green tire technical support center, accredit tire testing agencies, refine the green tire raw material guides, and finally realize the tire labeling system so that consumers can only know the tires by looking at the labels when buying tires. performance.
It is understood that the development of green tires to achieve industrial upgrading is the trend of the tire industry in the world. It is also an indispensable part of China’s construction of a strong rubber industry in the world. Whether it is adapting to changes in the international market or achieving the goal of domestic energy conservation and emission reduction, Both are imperative. At present, many domestic tire companies have entered or announced to enter the field of green tires, but if there is no quantitative standard, the proliferation of this concept does not help the healthy development of the industry, so the introduction of green tire standards is an urgent requirement for the tire industry. To this end, China Rubber Association launched the research project of green tire industry development in 2012, and will organize the development of green tire self-discipline standards as the focal point of work and complete the formulation of the “Standard†in the shortest time possible. The China Rubber Association hopes that each tire and raw material member company will provide opinions or suggestions in the reference trial and the association will organize amendments in due course.
According to another report, the "Code" has a guiding role for the development of green tires in China, but it still belongs to the industry self-discipline standard and does not have the enforceable industrial binding force. Therefore, China Rubber Association hopes that the country will raise the standard to an industry standard or a national standard.
