ZF Expects to Earn 15 Billion Euros in 2011

At the press conference of the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show , ZF CEO Hans-Georg Härter revealed that ZF sales for the first eight months of 2011 increased by 23% compared to the same period last year, and the company expects to achieve 15 billion euros for the whole year of 2011 (20.5 billion U.S. dollars) return target.

From the beginning of 2011 to the present, ZF North American market sales increased by 48% year-on-year; Western European markets increased by 21% year-on-year; Eastern Europe markets increased by 37% year-on-year; South America market increased by 20% year-on-year; Asia-Pacific region increased by 7% year-on-year. Härter said: "Despite the recent economic turmoil in Europe, our orders have continued to increase." Given the very optimistic outlook, ZF decided to expand its global production capacity, including the expansion of its factory in Saarbrücken, Germany. Invested 300 million euros to build a new plant in South Carolina. In order to maintain a strong supply chain during the expansion of its production capacity, ZF acquired the Honsel plant in Nuremberg, Germany, which manufactures transmission housings and die castings.
