Denso may increase its 2010 earnings forecast

Japanese auto parts supplier Denso (Denso) recently said that given the company significant gains achieved in the first quarter of this year, in late October, the company will assess earnings do again, and there is likely to enhance the earnings outlook for 2010.

Nobuaki Katoh, president of Denso, said: "Although Toyota is located in Nansha, Guangzhou, China's parts factory, which is the Denso Nansha plant, and raised workers' wages after the strike in June, the Beijing government also intends to support the appreciation of the renminbi. However, these will not affect its plans for expansion in China. In addition, Denso will also expand production at its Thai plant to meet the needs of the entire Asian market."

In fiscal year 2010, Denso is expected to achieve an operating profit of US$1.6 billion, which is lower than the estimated US$1.8 billion profit valued by Reuters analysts.

In addition, Denso also plans to increase its percentage of emerging market sales from the current 7% to 10-20% in order to gradually increase its global business revenue.
