The first pesticide emission control standard was released

The reporter learned from the newly established Ministry of Environmental Protection on April 14 that the first batch of four national environmental protection standards were issued a few days ago. Three of the four standards involved the petroleum and chemical industries. Including limiting the discharge of pesticide water pollutants, prohibiting the emission of coalbed methane and reducing the emission limits of heavy-duty gasoline vehicles. Among them, the “Discharge Standards for Water Pollutants of Heterocyclic Pesticide Industry” fills a gap in China’s emission control of pesticides.
The person in charge of the Ministry of Environmental Protection said in an interview with reporters that the release of these environmental protection standards aims to further improve the level of emission control of pollution sources and improve the national pollutant discharge monitoring system.
The “Discharge Standard for Water Pollutants of Heterocyclic Pesticide Industry” is the first national emission standard of pesticide industry issued after the Ministry of Environmental Protection initiated the formulation of the discharge standard for water pollutants in the pesticide industry. The standard addresses the characteristics of production processes, pollution control technologies, and pollutant emissions of heterocyclic pesticides, sets emission limits for conventional pollutants and pollutants characteristic of the pesticide industry in existing enterprises and construction projects, and strict water pollutants. Special emission limits. In addition, the standards for the discharge of pollutants from the pesticide industry are a series of standards that include heterocyclics, organophosphorus, pyrethroids, carbamates, amides, phenoxy carboxylic acids, sulfonylureas, organic sulfur, Biological, organic chlorine. This series of standards was formulated for the first time in China, filling the gap in the pollution control of the pesticide industry.
In addition, two new emission standards related to the petroleum and chemical industries were also announced. The Coal Bed Methane (Coal Mine Gas) Emission Standard (Provisional) puts forward requirements for prohibiting the discharge of high-concentration gas discharged from coal mine drainage systems. This is also the first time that China has proposed mandatory measures to control greenhouse gas emissions in the world. The issuance of this standard can not only increase the utilization of coalbed methane, produce economic benefits and safety benefits, but also promote China's energy conservation and emission reduction work.
The “Limits and Measurement Methods for Exhaust Pollutants from Heavy-duty Vehicle Gasoline Engines and Vehicles (Phase III and IV in China)” amend the current heavy-duty gasoline vehicle emission standards. The new standard reduces pollutant emission limits and improves emissions detection methods. It also puts forward requirements for the durability of vehicle emission control performance, in-vehicle compliance, and installation of on-board diagnostic systems.
The first batch of national environmental protection standards was jointly issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. This is also the first time since the establishment of the Ministry of Environmental Protection to issue national environmental standards.
