Jia Xinguang: China's commercial vehicle industry is facing a grim situation next year

The situation facing China's commercial vehicle industry in 2011 will be very serious, because it is initially predicted that China's economic growth will slow down, which will affect the decline in sales of commercial vehicles in the first half of next year. Therefore, the special vehicle industry should optimize product structure and improve technological advantages, starting from five aspects. Accelerate the development of China's special-purpose vehicle industry. Jia Xinguang, a senior expert in the automotive industry, said during an exclusive interview with the China Commercial Automotive Network reporter at the 6th China Special Vehicle Development Seminar.

According to Jia Xinguang, in 2000, the output of special vehicles in China was only 180,100, accounting for 26.93% of the total truck production that year. In 2009, China produced about 1.65 million special vehicles of various types, accounting for 55.68% of the total annual production of trucks. In the past few years of development, the product structure of China's special vehicles has been continuously optimized. The composition ratio of special heavy, medium and light vehicles changed from 2:5:3 in 1999 to 4.3:0.9:4.8 in 2009.

Liangshan has more than 160 special-purpose automobile manufacturing enterprises and 58 accessory production enterprises. It annually produces 120,000 special vehicles and 1.7 million pieces of various types of accessories, gradually forming special-purpose automobile manufacturing, vehicle sales, and trailer accessories. , Used car trading, research and development, testing, and logistics in one of the country's largest dedicated automotive industry cluster. In 2009, Liangshan produced a total of 99,000 special-purpose vehicles of all kinds, an increase of 32.7% year-on-year, and realized sales revenue of 9.83 billion yuan. The sales of special vehicles accounted for more than 60% of the total sales in Shandong Province and accounted for more than 25% of the total sales in the country.

Then how should China develop the special-purpose vehicle industry and how can it make the special-purpose vehicle industry bigger and stronger? Jia Xinguang believes that the following five aspects should be taken to improve the development of China's special-purpose vehicle industry.

First of all, special-purpose vehicles are relatively independent industries. Special-purpose vehicle companies should use their own advantages to win the market.

The Article 5 of the Regulations on the Administration of Production of Special Purpose Vehicles and Trailer Manufacturers and Product Access Management promulgated by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology states: The State encourages and gradually promotes the production of specialized vehicles for the use of the company’s products for follow-up manufacturing by vehicle manufacturers (including chassis). Specialized automotive products implement unified management. In accordance with this provision, the chassis companies clearly have a dominant position in their relationship with special-purpose vehicle companies, and the status of special-purpose vehicle companies will be re-entered passively.

The core of special vehicles is the top-loading technology. Moreover, special-purpose vehicle products are targeted at various industries and have specific users and adopt specific technologies. The reason why special car manufacturers do not make chassis is to concentrate their efforts on the tops. Therefore, the automaker should provide a dedicated chassis, not what products are doing their own thing. OEMs and special vehicle manufacturers should have cooperation and division of labor.

Second, we must focus on the lightweighting of special vehicles. The weight of the car itself is decreasing year by year. For every 10% reduction in car quality, fuel consumption can be reduced by 6%-8%. At the same time, it means a corresponding reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The total mass is reduced by 3 tons. If the daily driving mileage is 1000 kilometers, the fuel consumption will be saved by nearly RMB 1,000. In one year, the weight-reduced semi-trailer and trailer will be the same car with steel structure (including other expenses). Save nearly 300,000 yuan. Therefore, special-purpose vehicle companies should make more efforts on how to improve lightweight technology, which is of great significance for solving China's energy shortage, road overload, and low transportation efficiency.

Third, efforts should be made to improve the quality of special-purpose vehicles. The "Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products" issued jointly by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, and the General Administration of Customs, starting from September 1, 2009, for vehicles of category N (with at least four wheels and (Removal of cargo vehicles) and Category O vehicles (trailers and semi-trailers). This is undoubtedly a wake-up call for private car companies. Enhancing product reliability has become a top priority in the special car manufacturing industry. Special vehicle companies should strengthen quality management and improve quality.

Fourth, strengthen independent research and development. The majority of domestic trailer manufacturers mainly produce ordinary semi-trailers. The homogeneity of products is serious, the product technology has little difference, the cost difference is not great, the price competition is fierce, and the profits of the whole industry are getting lower and lower. The technical content of products is not high, and the added value of products is not high. Enterprises are unwilling to increase investment in technological transformation and product development, affecting technological progress and forming a vicious circle. Corporate plagiarism is very serious. Therefore, the special-purpose vehicle industry should strengthen the protection of independent intellectual property rights, strengthen the research and development of process technologies, strengthen the research and development of its own technologies, and get rid of low-price competition.

Finally, promote corporate reorganization. There are many companies in the special-purpose vehicle industry, which are small in scale and weak in strength. Bigger and stronger is the development direction of the special car industry.

Since 2002, CIMC Group has integrated its industry resources by means of mergers and acquisitions and investment construction to achieve scale expansion. It has established 15 productions in North America, North China, East China, Central China, South China, and Northwest China covering North America and China. Bases and marketing centers with the characteristics of the CIMC brand, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Ningbo, Fuyang, and other central cities, form an industry structure and annual interaction between China and the United States, which are reasonably distributed and support each other. The production scale of 200,000 special vehicles of various types.

Finally, Jia Xinguang said in an interview with a reporter from China’s commercial vehicle network that the situation facing China’s commercial vehicle industry in 2011 will be very serious, because it is initially predicted that China’s economic growth will slow down, which will affect the decline in sales of commercial vehicles in the first half of next year, so the special vehicle The industry should optimize product structure and improve technological advantages, and continuously upgrade products so that China's special-purpose vehicle industry can truly become bigger, stronger, and do a good job, and develop healthily.
