The battery of an electric vehicle is a major component but it is also a consumable product. At present, most companies have only one year warranty for batteries, and there are problems after the warranty period expires. Consumers will have to spend hundreds of dollars on their own to repurchase their batteries. The AQSIQ recently conducted a quality inspection of the sealed lead-acid battery products used in electric bicycles, showing that the product sampling pass rate is 74.3%, and unqualified projects are mainly concentrated on low-temperature capacity and 2-hour rate capacity.

With only one year of warranty, nearly 30 percent of the batteries on the market are unqualified. This will require consumers to treat the original batteries of electric vehicles and extend their life as far as possible. Just pay attention to a few points in daily use to effectively extend battery life:

First of all, it cannot be loaded for a long time. Increasing the load of an electric car is equivalent to letting the battery play at “super level” and one day it will “overdraw life”, so those electric car batteries used to carry passengers must be short-lived.

Second, to avoid frequent start-up and braking, it is also a good protection for the battery, and it is better to avoid using the motor to start directly, but the combination of human riding and the motor reduces the burden on the battery.

Third, when riding a large slope, it is better to use a combination of manpower riding and electric driving. In addition, the use of batteries must be strictly avoided.

Fourth, the most important thing for consumers to pay attention to is that instead of letting the battery lose power, it is better to charge the battery once a day instead of waiting for the battery to go back to charging. However, you should not ride an electric car. Charging should be recharged when the battery's maximum mileage is 60%-70%.

Finally, consumers should also pay attention to regular inspection during use. Because if the continuation mileage of an electric vehicle suddenly drops by more than ten kilometers in a short period of time, it is likely that at least one of the batteries in the battery pack has a short-circuit phenomenon such as a broken cell, softened plates, and off-polarized active materials. At this point, inspection should be conducted in a timely manner at the place of sale.
